Sitting just 12 miles off the coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Secrets Aura has it all. Although we were really pleased with the service and the diving I'd be tempted to look at some of the other companies who include nitrox and do packages for multiple dives for when we return to Cozumel. In a perfect blend of luxury and excitement, Secrets Aura Cozumel is the ultimate adults-only, all-suite resort located on the island of Cozumel. Also there were no packages for multiple dives. We didn't use nitrox this time as there was a $12 charge per tank. The temperature of the water was a constant 28C. If you want to see what the diving was like in May, then take a peek at my You Tube Channel (Gerry Green diving AMAZING DRIFT SCUBA DIVING COZUMEL MEXICO MAY 2016 ) It's best to tip daily as each boat has their own crew and you don't know which boat you'll be on each day.Īll of the dives were excellent and we particularly enjoyed the Devil's Throat at Punta Sur! The visibility was really good for all of our dives and we saw several nurse sharks, lots of turtles, quite a few splendid toad fish as well as lots of other marine life. We had our own equipment but they took care of it in between dives and it was rinsed and dried ready for us the next day. They asked us which dive sites we'd like to dive so that we could dive different areas there. Although some of the boats are quite large we were never crowded and the highest number of divers on a couple of the days were eleven, but there were two guides on those days. There were always plenty of boat staff and guides on the boat and they were very efficient, friendly and helpful, including setting up your equipment for you and changing your tanks in between dives. We used 3 out of their 5 boats and each boat was comfortable to use and easy to stride jump off and climb up the ladder at the end. As we were staying at the Secrets Aura we just walked straight off the beach onto the pier to wait for the boat. We did 7 days of 2 tank diving with Dive House. Looking forward to returning at Easter to dive again with them. My only negative was the daily marine park fee, which had to be paid cash, not sure how much gets to the marine park. But the animal life was awesome.Īll in all a great experience, Dive house would put you in a boat with similar experienced divers so you would all surface about the same time. There night dive was spectacular, their loaner lights leave a little to be desired so bring your own. No matter the experience level again he is right to do this. Every dive no matter if you dive with him before he would always give a safety briefing. Some may disagree however I believe he is right on doing this. If you chose to dive with out a computer he would make you dive the tables. David was very polite and cheerful and very safety conscious. ![]() Omar the young lad helping on the boats was very attentive and helpful, he was there for everybody making sure fins were ,on handing you water and changing your cylinder so fast you did not even notice him doing it. Every morning he would be on the dock to ensure you were on the right boat. Ivan was great very polite and helpful even taught us some Spanish. We were at the Secrets for a week and so Dive House was our dive operator for this resort.
